Faith and Family Formation 2021-2022

Dear Families and Parishioners of Saint Mary Magdalen Parish

The Office of Faith Formation wants to thank and honor every parent/guardian for a remarkable job in guiding and teaching their children in the ways of our Catholic faith. Thank you for your commitment and effort to bring them up in the Catholic faith.

The year 2020-2021 brought challenging and unprecedented circumstances that affected every sphere of our lives, including church life and more specifically Religious Education.

In spite of this, 2020 taught us many important lessons, such as the indispensable and irreplaceable role and value of “the domestic church”. We read in the Catechism of the Catholic Church: “The Christian home is the place where children receive the first proclamation of the faith. For this reason the family home is rightly called “the domestic church,” a community of grace and prayer, a school of human virtues and of Christian charity.” (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1666)

The parish of Saint Mary Magdalen is committed to uphold the Church’s promise “to help parents foster their child’s faith” by creating and providing a program that fosters Faith and Family Formation of the Catholic faith in the classroom and at home.

During the program year 2021-2022 we will focus not just on the faith formation of children, but on the family unit through a program that will assist and equip parents/guardians in deepening their understanding, love and practice of the Catholic faith.

This will include:

Parent Sessions and Mini Seminars

Fun at Home Lesson Activities that will be given out on a monthly basis

And Family Service Projects and Events

We are excited for all that the Lord has in store for us this program year 2021-2022!

Blessings,
Gintare Lopez
