Dear Families of First Holy Communion Students,
This note brings you some important information pertaining to your child's special day, the celebration of their First Holy Communion.
First Communion Practice:
Will be held at the church
Thursday, May 13th, 5:30pm-7:00pm. Please enter the church building by using the side door.
At this practice, students and family members will rehearse the Mass. Students will also be going to Confession during this time.
First Communion:
Saturday, May 15th, at 11:00am
Due to Covid restrictions the students will not be processing in or having reading parts within the Mass.
We ask that you arrive 15 minutes prior to the ceremony. Due to the restrictions in place, we are limited to 4 guests per student, which includes parents, to occupy one pew per family. Your child's banner will be on the pew that you are to sit in. Please have your child sit on the side of the center aisle end so that he/she can easily exit the pew when it is time to receive his/her First Holy Communion.
Dress Code for First Communion:
White face masks will be made available to the students at the practice on Thursday, May 13th. Everyone in the attendance is required to wear a face mask for the entire Mass. You are also asked to respect the social distancing requirements.
Girls: White dress, white ankle socks or tights, white shoes. No gloves. Veils/hair pieces are optional. Jewelry is fine. Painted nails are not permitted.
Boys: Black pants, long sleeve whiteshirts, white neck ties (these are available to purchase), dark dress shoes.
We are also scheduled to have our 3d Grade Student Retreat in April:
Will be held at the church
April 24th, Saturday, 10:00am-12:00pm
We ask that each 3d grader be accompanied by one parent/guardian during the time spent at retreat.
When you arrive, please enter through the side door and register
A retreat is a wonderful opportunity to have a special time for the kids to learn more about their Catholic faith, and prepare their hearts for that very special occasion of receiving their First Holy Communion.
